Santa 2010

This years Santa attempt was an exact mirror of last years event. Carson was neither overly impressed nor disappointed by the meeting and as you can see by the picture below, Lane has yet to get over her small fear.

Happy as ever by the wooden cut-out!

Carson's 1st Birthday/Halloween

I can't believe Carson is already a year! It truly has flown by and I couldn't be more in love with the sweetest, most destructive little man I know.

We first celebrated Carson's birthday trunk-or-treating at my parent's church with the Phelps cousins. The day was completed with a hayride at Tuesink's Farm and a pumpkin cake.

Our second celebration was with the TeBrake and Borchert clan. Since trunk-or-treat was on a Saturday and real trick-or-treating was on Sunday, the kids got to do it twice!

Lunch Break

This was the only way I could sit down and enjoy lunch the other day. The 5 minutes of uninterrupted time was worth every piece of tupperware strewn about the room.

Gymnastics

Lane just finished her first gymnastics class. Lane seemed to have fun and it was nice for Chris and I to take turns one on one with her for the class. I believe we may have the next Kerri Strug on our hands and Chris her Bela Karolyi. Just saying.

Sleepover

Lane had her first sleepover hosted by her gracious Auntie Maribeth. She and her cousin, Addie, were the guests of honor that night. Lane came home with her nails painted and what seemed like a thousand stories to tell of her fun evening. Thanks for the great memory Auntie M!

11 Months

This is Chris's idea of funny... a little inappropriate, but funny.

No tears and no fuss, thanks Miss Cricket!

Weekend with Grandpa and Grandma

Helping Grandma bake the best fall apple cake I've ever tasted!

We took Lane and Carson on their first train ride to Wheaton. Lane was BEYOND excited and talked about this big event for a full two weeks before we went. She thought the best was meeting the conductor, Carson on the other hand, was not so sure about that part.

Chris took Lane to the little alley-way candy shop his Grandpa Petersen took him to as a little boy.

First Day of School

Lane started preschool last week. Chris and I both went into work a little late so we could have the sweet memory of dropping her off. Grandma stayed with Carson but was also able to be part of the big day. So far so good!

Onekama Fair

Over Labor Day Weekend we spent time at my parent's cottage and braved gale force winds and rain for fun at the Onekama Fair. We were proud of our naturally timid daughter for actually riding some of the rides and for Grandpa, Grandma and Carson for enduring the weather in support. Lane owes a big thanks to her Dad for practically breaking the bank to purchase tickets for all of the understaffed, unhygienic and moderately dangerous kiddie rides. As Chris so eloquently put it that weekend, "what my baby wants, my baby gets."
