MS Walk

Just a reminder that on this coming Saturday, May 2, my family and I will be participating in the MS Walk in downtown Grand Rapids. Team Kwantes is walking in memory of Francis and Rick Kwantes (my Grandfather and Uncle). If anyone would still like information about the walk or would like to contribute to our group please check out my web page below. We appreciate everyone's support as we walk to help find a cure for Multiple Sclerosis.

Oh Yeah......

And one more thing...Lane is anxiously awaiting her new baby brother or sister! We are expecting baby #2 at the end of October. We are all very excited and can't wait to add to our family. I am thankfully now in the second tri-mester as the first proved to be a challenge. All is well though and we are feeling truly blessed!

CHEESE!!!!

For some reason that we don't know of, this is Lane's new way to "say cheese" and pose for a picture. Sure hope she grows out of this one, or I'm not paying for senior pictures.

Dad's 60th and an Engagement!

We were able to celebrate Chris's Dad's 60th birthday a bit ago with a rare adult-only evening out! We put together a book for him of pictures of him from when he was a baby up until now. At the end of the book all the children wrote 10 reasons why we love him totalling 60 things. He loved it and it was a great night of celebration.
Maribeth, Chris, Katie and Ryan.....The Borchert Clan.

We were also able to share the excitement of Maribeth and Joel's engagement that weekend. The girls got to go wedding dress shopping the next day with Maribeth, which is always a good time. We are all so happy for them and can't wait to celebrate with them at their wedding this September!

J-O-B

It's been awhile since the last post but we have been very busy around these parts. I have been interviewing for a position since December and finally received word that I got the job! Starting the Monday after Easter, I will be working part-time as the Medical Social Worker in the Pediatric Nephrology Clinic at Spectrum Health Hospital. Actually, during the 6 week orientation process I will be working 4 days as week and then once I'm done, 2 days one week, 3 the next. Chris and I are very excited for this but with any change it is also a bit nerve wrecking. I have been a stay-at-home Mom with Lane since she was born, so this is definitely going to test us all. I keep reminding myself that millions of Moms do this every day and in the end it's what is best for our family. I'm hoping my professional self isn't completely lost and will emerge sooner rather than later :). We could definitely use your thoughts and prayers as we transition as a family...and I am open to any advice you working Mom's out there have to give!
