Could she and her Dad look more alike? Chris got Laney up from her nap today and brought her out dressed exactly like him. Never a dull moment.

80's Night
On Saturday we went to 80's Night at the Intersection with our friends Tim and Kate. It was so much fun dressing up like we did back in the day and listening to great music. It was amazing how the words to all those great 80's songs came flooding back and we were able to sing along with the band. This is not a new thing for Chris as he has this incredible talent to hear a song once and know and remember every word (which can be kind of annoying) but personally, I was proud of my own memory.
You can't see it in the picture but Kate is wearing leg warmers...how great is that?

Love That Laugh
We don't own a video camera so I apologize about the quality and length of this but its just a short little blip from our actual camera. We love when Lane laughs so I thought I would share the love. Chris is just making weird noises but this seems to be her favorite thing to laugh about these days.

Work It!
I tried Laney's new bathing suit on her the other day and she instantly posed in this position for me. I think we may be in trouble!!
Note the rainbow spots on the floor behind her reflecting the light through the front door. This provided about 20 minutes worth of pure confusion and entertainment for her as she went from spot to spot trying to pick them up off the carpet. I think I had just as good of a time watching :)
When Mom's Away
So this is what happens when I'm out and about and Lane is left alone with her Dad. These are pictures Chris took of their play time together. Note the same party trick he seems to be fixated on her perfecting (the balancing act) and the picture of her standing in her crib makes me cringe because technically..she isn't standing yet. Yeah, that just makes me think that any second she could have bashed her perfect little chin into that side rail and landed upside down. I never knew what a nervous nelly I was until I had a child...and a husband.

The Pillow
When we were in the hospital to have Laney one of the nurses suggested that we take a picture of her by a still object each month as a fun way to document her growth. We took her advice and chose a small elephant pillow from her room. The first picture is of Laney her first week home from the hospital weighing in at 5lbs. The second is of her next to the pillow at 7 months. So I guess the nurse was right...she really would grow!
7 Months
Laney is now 7 months old. She is such a joy to us as she has such a fun and lovable personality. She is usually always happy and giggles and smiles at such funny things as Chris's weird voices, my parent's dog-Bailey, playing peek-a-boo and yes, her own farts. She is in bed around 6:30 or 7:00 at night and usually up around 6:00am. She is taking about three naps a day for a total of about four hours. She seems to be enjoying the new baby foods we introduce to her and her new favorites are the Graduates finger-food puffs. She is army crawling everywhere so I officially can no longer turn my back. I think she will be crawling for real though very soon!
